Fly Rod Blanks

Forward

While fly rod building has become more popular in recent years, it can still be difficult to find the perfect blank for your build. This is especially true if you’re building a special purpose rod such as one for euro nymphing or backpacking and/or want to customize the color of your blank. What’s more, it’s not always easy to tell which rod companies even sell their rods as blanks; some of them don’t publish their blanks per say and you may have to contact the company directly to determine if they do offer blanks.

Since I started building fly rods, I’ve been collecting a list of companies that offer fly rod blanks. I’ve tried to take notes as to what blanks they offer as well as their price point and have provided that data in the table below. I’d consider this a “living list” as I’ll update it as I learn more. Please feel free to comment/connect if you have others.
